Casa Albets is what it is today, thanks to our unwavering commitment to our values
Although this manor has been in my family since the 11th century, the Casa Albets project began when I met Joel. And no, our beginnings were far from idyllic.
Oh! By the way, this is Megan, heir of Casa Albets and the one responsible for making you feel at home when you come to visit us.
But before we meet in person, I want you to know a little bit about our history.
As I was saying, the journey of transforming this manor into the hotel it is today has not been easy at all.
We started with a lot of enthusiasm but very little experience. Since we opened our doors in 2017, we have faced setbacks as harsh as the pandemic, when we were forced to temporarily close.
However, we took advantage of this time to reflect, learn from our mistakes, and reshape our business.
Joel and I never gave up, and do you know why? Because we had a clear purpose:
To offer an excellent vegan gastronomic experience that inspires a more ethical and respectful lifestyle, and to create a wellness space where everyone feels safe in a peaceful and inclusive hotel.
Thanks to our effort, a significant investment, and constant learning, we can say that Casa Albets is 100% aligned with the purposes that led us to start this project.
We are Megan and Joel, the team behind Casa Albets.
We are a large and multi-species family (3 kids, 3 dogs, and 4 cats), working hand in hand to make you always want to come back.
Megan
You’ll see me everywhere because I’m a jack-of-all-trades. I answer your calls and messages, serve dinner and breakfast, act as receptionist in all shifts, manage the accounting, take care of all the details… oh! and I’m also the content creator on Instagram.
Joel
Officially the chef of the restaurant, and the person who will tantalize your taste buds. Although, at times, I can also be a gardener, electrician, or handyman.

Ecologists
Every aspect of your stay at Casa Albets is aligned with sustainable values.
– All our products, from food to cosmetics and furniture, are vegan, ecological, and locally sourced (whenever possible) to minimize our carbon footprint.
– We heat our facilities with biomass from the region.
– We compost all organic waste.
– We treat our gray water naturally in a purifier with specialized plants.
– We recycle 100% of our recyclable waste.
– Our energy comes from our solar panels, and when we need extra supply, we buy it from a company that distributes only renewable energy.
Vegan
Because if you are sensitive to animal welfare, here you can enjoy according to your values without having to compromise on anything.
– Part of our profits are allocated to animal causes.
– If you travel with your furry friend, they will be more than welcome.
– EVERYTHING (really, everything) is vegan. Not only the food (which is the most obvious) but also our clothing and shoes, cosmetics, furniture, bedding, and decoration…
Fair Trade
Because we are a family business that supports other small businesses by understanding the challenges of making a business thrive.
– We work with small local businesses and artisans in the region.
– We only collaborate with brands that align with our values.
– Products that we cannot source locally (such as chocolate or coffee) are purchased organically and with fair trade certification.
